INTRODUCTION
Parasites are "in"... After years of "You have Candida" and "Avoid Wheat and Dairy" (although these two diagnosis have not disappeared), now the parasites have taken over!
Don’t make a mistake… there are parasites out there, which are dangerous killers. MALARIA, caused by the parasite Plasmodium, has killed half of all men, women and children who have died on this planet!
There is the Trypanosoma brucei, which causes the African sleeping sickness and there is the Trypanosoma cruzi, which causes the Central and Latin American sleeping sickness (Chagas disease). Both are often fatal.
There is Leishmania tropica and Leishmania major, which is transmitted by the sand-fly. The symptoms: skin sores, swollen glands, fever, enlarged liver, enlarged spleen, anaemia, low white blood cell count, low
platelet count, leukopenia and haemorrhage. The infection is usual fatal if not diagnosed at an early stage.
Naegleria fowleri causes meningoencephalitis (infection of the brain and the meninges). It is transmitted through swimming (mainly in lakes) and enters your system through the nasal passage. Death occurs within days. Acantamoeba spp. cause blinding keratitis, an eye infection with a level of pain which leads very often to suicides. Other Acantamoeba spp. cause granulomatous encephalitis. This disease is usually fatal.
Balamuthia mandrillaris attacks the central nervous system and causes encephalitis. This infection is usually fatal.
What about long-term sufferers, who have not been diagnosed properly?
Here we are talking of patients who suffer from long-term bowel disorders, headaches, migraines, irritability, depression, chronic fatigue, “brain fog”, joint pains…etc.
These patients have probably seen their GPs and even specialised consultants, who did the usual tests and had not been able to give a clear diagnosis.
These patients have been let down by conventional medicine, because they have been sent away with the words “There is nothing wrong with you” or “It is all in your head” or “We cannot do anything for you”
THEN the sufferer turns to alternative medicine and …is very often confronted with the most astonishing diagnosis:
“You have candida” or
“It is your liver… we need to flush it” or
“You have parasites”
If it is “you have parasites”, it can get even weirder if you are in the hands of a “Dr. Hulda Clark”- deciple, who will try to sell you a “parasite zapper” which they just copied without the approval of the Hulda Institute. (More about the “zapper” and other rubbish tools later)
Of course…there are gastrointestinal parasites, which can be very nasty and which lead to sometimes severe illnesses
But, as said before, parasites are in and we receive letters like the following ones on a daily base:
"...since I am back from my holidays on the Isle of Man I am feeling unwell. I fear it must be parasites..."
"...I am doing a parasite cleanse and I want to know if muscle twitch and pain is a normal reaction..."
"...and I have a parasite in my brain and I tried everything, but the nerve pain is unbearable and no doctor will help me..."
And then you see all these parasite discussion forums in which sufferers exchange their problems and it is so sad to see how they are soaked up into a world that does not really exist.
Business people and so called practitioners take advantage of the (real) suffering of the patients and sell them liver flushes and parasite formulas and zappers and nearly none of them have any basic knowledge of parasitology.
They are on the forums for years and if these miracle drugs and zappers would really work, they should be all fine by now!
