The Aspergillus MOLD-test
This test screens for finding immune reaction caused by Aspergillus species and includes both an Antibody analysis (ELISA) and additional Antigen detection (Galactomannan). Aspergillus-antibodies are produced by the immune system in case of infection and can be identified in blood samples in case of previous or ongoing infection, supplementary tests with detection of Aspergillus Antigens (Aspergilllus specific proteins) can only be identified in blood samples during an ongoing infection. Combining these two analyses is the basis of diagnosis and treatment.
